FAQs
Do I need a Prescription From My Doctor For Physical Therapy?
Yes. Patients with Medicare will require a prescription from their doctor before the initial evaluation. The patient can either contact his or her MD first and ask for a prescription to be faxed over to us, or the patient can contact us directly and we can secure a prescription from the doctor.
Are You a Home Health Agency?
Optimal Home Rehab is different from Home Health physical therapy. We operate as a private practice outpatient service which sees clients in their home, this is known as Medicare Part B coverage. Generally, all that is needed for our services is a referral or prescription from your physician. Our business is a private practice, which provides in-home therapy to the older adult who is not considered homebound. However, now we partner with local agencies to find the proper care for your Home Health needs as well.
Why Choose Optimal Home Rehab Over Going Into An Outpatient Clinic For Therapy?
COVID-19 seems to be reason enough! We help older adults minimize risk of COVID-19 by following CDC Guidelines, and providing patients the ease of mind that comes with being treated at home. Our therapists are highly specialized in working with older adults over the age of 65. Patients will always work with the same licensed therapist each visit.
Our clients also don’t have to worry about driving or getting a ride to the clinic 2-3 times per week. It is more effective for therapists to actually see the limitations and problems older adults face at home rather than try to simulate those settings in an outpatient clinic. Lastly, patients receive our 100% undivided attention at home, something that one won’t receive in a busy outpatient clinic.
How Long Are The Sessions?
Up to 90 minutes for the initial evaluation and up to 60 minutes for follow up visits. The amount of time will be based on your specific needs, and our therapist will discuss this with you. You will most likely see your therapist once or twice per week, to begin with, and as you progress through treatment, your sessions will be more spread out.
Is Optimal Home Rehab The Best Choice For Medicare Patients?
Yes. We are the best choice for any patient on Medicare Part B, because our therapy is specifically geared towards older adults and not for any other patient population. We are filling the gap for Medicare patients who are not homebound, but for those that would find it more convenient and more beneficial to have the therapy at their home instead of traveling to the outpatient client.
What Are your Fees:
Optimal Home Rehab accepts Medicare. If you have Medicare and have a secondary insurance, you can, in most cases, receive Optimal’s full mobile services and treatment with no out of pocket costs. Deductibles and copays do apply. To see if you are a good candidate click to schedule an appointment.
